The Fate of James Durbin, American Idol Contestant with Tourettes and Asperger's Syndrome - Did He Make Top 10?

Today's American Idol has come to completion. 14 contestants were cut. Of those 14, 6 will be given a second chance to prove themselves and will later be added to the top 10 to make the top 13. James Durbin was not among these six selected "Wild Cards." No, James Durbin made the top 10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is great news for the autism community. It is very inspirational to see someone so talented make it so far. I really hope that he can make all the way to become the American Idol. That is exactly what the autism community needs. We need someone on the autism spectrum to be an inspirational figure to speak up for us. While it is important for parents like Jenny McCarthy and other parents to take a stand. It is also very important for those of us with autism to go out and show what is possible for those of us on the autism spectrum and to represent autism as a whole.

James Durbin's success will only mean more spotlight on autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Often, the media only shows the most severe cases of autism, and I think it is refreshing to see someone like James Durbin in the media spotlight.

With that said, congratulations to James Durbin for making the top 10. I urge you readers to continue to vote for him. He is an inspiration to the autism community as a whole.

For those new to my blog, my name is Arman Khodaei, and I too have autism. I have many great blog entries and YouTube videos explaining autism such as what it is like to have autism and what not. I give a great internal view of autism, and I believe my blog entries and YouTube videos to be a great resource.

If you are new to my blog, please search around and read some blog entries and watch some of my YouTube videos. Also, please send over other people you know whose lives are touched by autism in some way. Also, feel free to add me as a friend on Facebook.

Thank you, and may everyone have an awesome day of awesomeness! Again, congratulations to James Durbin!
